Bring Your Ideas Into Focus

Recently, I ran a series of workshops to test drive some content from my upcoming book. To those of you who attended, thank you!

I’m happy to report the workshops exceeded my expectations! Most participants came back for a second and third workshop. They loved the interactive safe space—”instant intimacy”— as one person called it, and there were calls for me to create a weekly experience. All in all, it was affirming, uplifting, and a blast.

That’s the shiny stuff I have to share about it.

It’s not always shiny, though. Before the shine, there was the blur.

The blur is those times when I have lots of ideas and possibilities but don’t know how to organize them. I don’t know what to do next and so I don’t do any of them.

I was in the blur state in those weeks before these workshops. I did have one clear thought, though — I needed help.

I racked my brain for who I knew I could reach out to. Not for a program—I didn’t want a program. I just wanted a one-off place to brain dump. Someone I felt could listen well and help me see what I wanted to do without pushing me in a direction that didn’t line up for me.

When I saw that Andrea Lee would be giving a special session for those of us in the Top Three Book workshop (my book writing cohort), a light bulb went off. She’d be the one!

We had become friends earlier this year at an editing retreat. We had taken a long walk together and she helped me think through some other blurry thing I was struggling with at that time. Although she no longer offers one-off sessions, she made an exception for those of us in Top Three.

And yay! Because I ran those workshops which turned out so great.

Sometimes we just need someone to talk things through, to bounce ideas off of, to help us see things we can’t see for ourselves, to pick someone’s brain. If I hadn’t spoken with Andrea, I’d probably still be ruminating about them today with no action.

I want to share this because sometimes people comment to me that they are inspired by the work I do and how I have things all put together. I gratefully receive that compliment. But I also don’t want to put forth a facade that isn’t real.

My business is very much in the process. I’m figuring stuff out all the time. The expansion of my business is not at all linear and I’m ok with that. I’m ok with not always knowing what comes next, needing to marinate with ideas, to ask for help.

Help is such a nice thing we can do for each other.

How I Can Help: a Day of Mentoring

I have a new way I’ve been helping people who are having a blurring moment, going around in circles, and who want somebody to talk to.

It’s called a Day of Mentoring. What a Day of Mentoring gives you is:

  • The attention you need right now to nudge you and your business forward into the limelight
  • Access to me and my brain for a day without the pressure of fitting it into a one-hour call
  • A fun back and forth to get your burning (or random) questions answered
  • Unblocking whatever’s in the way of you taking the next steps of your biz visibility

How it works is that our day runs from 9 am to 4 pm Eastern. (Starting at 8 am if you live overseas). You’ll get at least a few hours, no matter where you live.

We send messages back and forth on Voxer or Marco Polo. (We won’t be glued to the phone. Life will flow alongside with time to think, work, make lunch, take a walk.)

You’ll get your questions answered, get help where you need it, envision your visibility with more clarity, focus, and motivation.

Topics I’ve helped clients with are content, presentation, style, vocal, and video presence, strategy, audience, messaging, offers, workshop structure, how to differentiate yourself, concerns, and mindset.

You’ll also get the (not so) secret opportunity to practice speaking on camera in a natural, laid-back, conversational setting with me!

I pull out my top strengths which are positivity, connection, and ideation.

What this means is that I see what is great about you and your business.

I help you generate (great) ideas that feel like the next obvious and doable step.

When steps are doable and aligned with your inner desires, it’s fun and exciting! That’s what this day of mentoring is all about!

Oh, and if you know you want more than one day of mentoring, you can sign up for two!

If this sounds like just the kind of help you’re needing right now, or just want to check out what it’s like to work with me, send me a message.

We’ll have a short chat and if it’s the right move, set up your day.

I look forward to hearing from you!
